THE EFFECT OF DEMOGRAPHIC PROCESSES ON THE GENETIC DIVERSITY IN PERIPHERAL POPULATIONS OF RODENTS

 Basing on individual marking, the author of the paper investigated possible ways of
the hereditary information transfer in natural populations of Muridae rodents (on the
example of Sylvaemus uralensis) taking into account the features of their demographic
structure in an ecologically non-optimal area. The author revealed a simplifiation of
the age structure and changes in the generational structure, which caused the decreased genetic heterogeneity of populations living in inadequate ecological conditions.
