The article covers the main principles of corpus linguistics teaching and working with
English corpora while training undergraduate and graduate students at the English
Department of the Philological Faculty of the University of Freiburg (Germany). A
short overview of the corpora available at the Department is given. Th author analyses
the curriculum of the seminar “Corpus Linguistics”, and also diffrent opportunities of
applying corpora in students’ research.
