The analysis of English textbooks used in secondary schools is carried out in the paper. Basing on the estimation criteria for foreign language textbooks, the author of the paper considers in detail modern school textbooks, presents the results of foreign language teachers’ estimation of textbooks and study guides that they use in their work, defies the main disadvantages of the editions under study and determines the role of the regionol component in the intercultural dialogue context.
