The issue and peculiarities of the iconography of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin
on podeas in the 18th–20th centuries are discussed in the article. Th author conducts
a historical and art-historical analysis of the three major types of the plot of the Virgin’s
Assumption and identifis the main stylistic, technical and iconographic peculiarities of
works of the specifid plot in the selected period.
