Tigran Mansourian’s Concerto for violin and string orchestra is considered in the paper
in the following aspects: 1) polyphonic techniques, their role in music processualness;
2) local features of the form, its cohesiveness and logics of the proportional correlation
of the movements; 3) correspondence of the expression means, selected by the composer,
to the achieved artistic result. Th interpretation problem has two aspects: the objective
one, connected with inviolable fulfilment of the composer’s indications in text, and the
subjective aspect relating to a performer’s individual features.
