The empirical study of 21–25-year-old men and women, students of the humanities
university, showed that in the course of transition of writing from the manual way to the
machine, semantic units of mental process organisation change (a word is replaced with a text), the speed of writing grows as well as the number of dynamic errors and errors in optical-motoric encoding. At the same time, writing assignments in the “manual” way by today’s young people results in the increase of mental stress and problems in dynamic organisation of activities.
