The article analyses the main features of war, such as participants, scene, strategy and means of war, military tactics, procedures, as well as logic and perception of the conflict and their transformation during postmodernity. The author studies the transformation of war as an instrument to enclose the chaos of violence into ethical, political and legal frameworks, into the timeless “state of violence”, which has covered the whole world due to the development of globalisation processes. New forms of violence and logic of conflict challenge researchers and politicians to find new approaches to international conflicts resolution and prevention and first of all to the construction of the culture of peace.
