The penetration of electronic means of communication in everyday life has led not only
to changes in the socio-economic structure, but also in the psyche. The article discusses the changes of writing as the highest form of speech and original form of intellectual activity. It is shown that from the point of view of neuropsychology writing does not die as a form of communication but is undergoing evolutionary changes.
