Reflections on the phenomenon of polarity in Arabic

The article explains the nature of “polarity” in Arabic, which is formed through the connection of the feminine suffix to the stem of a masculine noun, and on the contrary,
joining the masculine suffix and the root of a feminine noun. The article also describes
prototypical situations that formed the basis of the phenomenon of polarity and its
subsequent conceptualisation in ethnic consciousness of native speakers of Arabic. The author presents the models of male and female names in plural, formed through the replacement of gender indicators.
