Abstract. The authors of the article study teacher motivation in modern foreign psychology. The main areas of research are highlighted: general, organisational and educational psychology of specialists’ motivation. The authors compile a generalised model of motivation for a modern teacher, which includes the components of psychological needs, self-efficacy, job satisfaction, and commitment to the organisation. Internal motivation is considered the most effective type of motivation in foreign psychology, and its factors are personal and organisational-psychological prerequisites.
