Abstract. Under the influence of digital technologies, the modern world is changing rapidly and significantly. The basic properties of cognition and understanding of reality are subject to change: subjectness and subjectivity, rationality, the nature of experience. One of the bright, gaining strength new directions of philosophical and artistic studies of the transformation of modernity is metamodernism. Metamodernism expresses the fatigue from the “shallowness” and unrestrained consumption, is concerned about environmental issues and in this regard, being in a middle position between modernism and postmodernism, is inclined to a kind of search for semantic depth and spirituality. The purpose of the article is to consider the features of the epistemological position of metamodernism, in which the understanding of the changing world is associated with the search for new ways of its holistic experience.
