Abstract. The relevance of the article is due to the fact that today young people are affected by a huge flow of information, which is often difficult to analyse, since it is often characterised by fragmentation and decontextualisation. This is why it is important to form students’ critical thinking purposefully. The aim of the article is to show the significant ideological potential of philosophy, which is a mandatory discipline and is part of the federal component. Among the humanities, it is philosophy which gives knowledge, forms the skills and abilities necessary for the analysis and evaluation of information, argumentation of one’s own position. This is important both for students’ future professional activity and for successful interaction in society.
