Abstract. The article presents the results of the study on the features of interpersonal
interaction of schoolchildren with different gender and age characteristics. The following
indicators of interpersonal interaction were selected: the need for communication, the need for approval, motivation for affiliation, interpersonal anxiety and the level of subjective feeling of loneliness. The study involved schoolchildren of two age groups – teenagers and high school students. Within each of the groups, the results were analysed taking into account the gender of the respondents. The results obtained indicate a number of differences in the indicators of interpersonal interaction among schoolchildren with different gender and age characteristics.
