Abstract. The article presents the results of an empirical study on the relationship between
personal characteristics and the propensity to lie in young people. The results indicate that
subjects with a high level of self-confidence rarely resort to distortion of information, and
subjects with a low degree of tolerance to uncertainty are prone to frequent manifestations
of lies.
