Abstract. There is a large number of studies of emotional intelligence demonstrating its

relationship with psychological well-being, mental and physical health nowadays. Our research is aimed at studying emotional intelligence in the context of prosocial behaviour. We consider emotional intelligence as a cognitive ability, possibly contributing to the prosocial orientation of an individual. The results obtained in the study using the Emotional Intelligence Test (EmIn) by D. Lyusin and the Personality Networking Strategies Method showed the presence of statistically significant relationships. In particular, the level of interpersonal emotional intelligence was positively associated with the prosocial orientation of an individual. The findings of the study have significant theoretical and practical significance and can be used in the development of training programmes and improvement of the efficiency of intragroup processes.
