Abstract. The article substantiates the thesis that modern pedagogical concepts unfold in line with the historiosophical theory proposed by D. Bell and his followers. The connection between the positions of modern social philosophy and the philosophy of education (school) is shown. The term “industrial theory of school” is substantiated. Based on the literature analysis,
the author articulates eight theses that form the philosophical basis of the “industrial theory of school”. The directions of possible criticism of these theses are shown. The main vector of criticism is clarification of the causal relationship between the “school world” and the “out-of-school world” (socio-economic reality).
