Abstract. The article is devoted to the consideration of musical and plastic activity in the aspect of pedagogical problems. The leading role of music in the development of personality is due to the depth and strength of its impact, therefore, the musical and aesthetic education of modern schoolchildren in the process of immersion in one or another kind of performing activity becomes one of the conditions for overall functional development. The author determines the main types of choreographic art, which contribute to a more successful entry of children into the creative environment, and indicates the forms of collective creativity, differentiated according to the principles of organisation. There are four types of musical and plastic activities: search, life-building, professional, and educational ones. The specificity of functioning of each type is characterised within the framework of the pedagogical cycle. It is concluded that
musical and plastic activity helps to expand the development of children’s creative potential inthe primary education system.
