Abstract. The article raises the question about the practical implementation of the author’s academic discipline “Gymnastic Scale” at the Institute of Music, Theater and Choreography of the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia, which has musical-developing and healthimproving signiȔcance. The structure of the discipline is characterised on the basis of four well-known theories: ancient Chinese one, according to which each sound has a certain effect on a particular human organ, the theory of musical ear training in solfeggio classes according to the system of E. Jaques-Dalcroze, “Listening to Music” classes by B. L. Yavorsky, and resonance reex theory of acoustic impact by S. V. Shusharjan. The principle of conducting a pedagogical experiment in the 2018–2019 academic year is described. Based on the experiment, it was conЉrmed that the Gymnastic Scale is an objective, bifunctional reserve of the educational process at a department (institute) of music.
