The paper deals with the problem of students’ value attitude towards the ethnic culture of
the peoples of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Based on the survey of students of two
institutes at M. K. Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University, the authors of the paper
determine the features of students’ attitudes towards languages, material and spiritual culture of peoples, the influence of the information environment on the transformation of students’ ethnic identity, the attitude towards knowledge of the native language as a necessary condition for ethnic identification. The authors revealed the differences in students’ value attitude towards the ethnic culture in mono-ethnic and multi-ethnic environments.
