The article analyses the reasons for the revitalisation of the political anti-elite in a
modern society. The author substantiates the idea that strengthening of its influence
on public opinion is associated with two interrelated processes: globalisation and
digitalisation. The first largely determined the international exchange of techniques and
ways of the anti-elite influence on the mass consciousness and the latter contributed
to the formation of clip thinking among the electorate, which allowed the anti-elite to
successfully promote their ideas and strengthen their influence on political processes
in society.
