The article presents the results of the research on women’s affective and motivational
sphere indicators at different stages of pregnancy. Such indicators as the psychological
component of the gestational dominant as well as types of neurotic states are investigated. The author also examines the influence of various stress factors on the psychoemotional state of pregnant women. The study was based on a sample of two age groups: women under 26 and those between 30 and 37 years old. The author found the changes in the psychological component of the gestational dominant and defined the varied extent of the influence of diverse stress factors on pregnant women’s psychoemotional state at different stages of gestation. Peculiarities of the emotional sphere of pregnant women belonging to different age groups were studied with respect to the indicators of the anxiety level, neurotic depression, asthenia, hysterical type of reaction, obsessive-phobic disorders, neurotic depression, as well as vegetative disorders. The results of the study indicate that pregnant women’s age is a factor determining the optimality of the type of the psychological component of the gestational dominant and women’s psychoemotional state indicators during the entire period of gestation.
