SELF-ASSESSMENT OF TEACHERS’ READINESS FOR THE DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF EDUCATION

The article presents the results of the study conducted in February 2021 among teachers
of Saint Petersburg. The research focuses on the problem of the teachers’ readiness for the digital transformation of education. Readiness is considered as a social attitude that includes three components: cognitive, affective-emotional and behavioural components. As a result of the study, the teachers’ readiness is assessed in terms of their theoretical knowledge, practical experience and personal attitude to digital transformation. The adherence of the teachers to traditional methods of professional activity, lack of experience in working in a digital environment and creating their own digital resources, as well as, in most cases, a negative attitude towards distance learning were revealed. These problems require both practical actions to improve the skills of teachers and further research.
