V. Kandinsky believed that music and painting are close arts that can give birth to
synesthesia. We can say that rhythm, melody and harmony in music correspond to points, lines and colours in painting. The simultaneous use of artistic techniques of music and painting in teaching visual arts, the development of abstract thinking as well as the
introduction of musical elements are efficient in the development of students’ sensory
perception and can reveal their sense of self. This helps to achieve comprehensive
unlocking of personal potential as well as mental abilities.
Keywords: music, painting, synesthesia, abstract art, abstract thinking, multiartistic
approach.
