The article is devoted to the analysis of the possibilities of the pedagogical system of
M. Montessori in the development of the cognitive interest of preschool children. The
article gives the author’s definition of the concept of “cognitive interest”, reveals the
specifics and structure of the cognitive interest in preschoolers. The article substantiates
the pedagogical conditions for the development of the cognitive interest of preschool
children according to the M. Montessori system.
