This article is devoted to the state and content of scientific studies on the implicit
theories of intelligence, especially students’ ideas about an intellectual person. The
article presents the results of the empirical study on the ideas of modern students of a
pedagogical university about a person with a high level of intelligence. It is determined
that these ideas primarily include cognitive components. The comparative analysis of the
implicit theories of intelligence of students of pedagogical universities, representatives
of two generations with a difference of 20 years, showed tendencies to change in the
structure of the image of a person with a high level of intelligence.
