Volunteer activity is considered in the article as an integrated approach to the
formation of professional competencies of a future teacher, as an experience of social
creativity. The eleven-year experience of organising the work of volunteer activities is
summarised and presented in the paper. The author reveals the educational opportunities of volunteer activity and the principles of its organisation at a department of Bne arts of a pedagogical university, based on observations and analysis of the process and results of activity.
