The paper is devoted to the use of educational resources of urban space in extracurricular practical courses in fine arts for students of Chinese universities. The article solves the problem of relevance and significance of a city’s resources for the artistic education system. The purpose of the work is to determine the potential and opportunities for the development of this field, as well as to identify problems that require timely solutions from the scientific community.
