The paper presents and analyzes the problems raised by com-
posers and fi lm directors within a musical fi lm. The author
considers the most remarkable, from his point of view, artistic
images of the fundamental fi lms of Chinese cinematography in
order to show that the aesthetics characteristic of this genre
shows a desire to draw attention to national traditions and
mentality from the ideological point of view.
