Objects of the same size look big at close range and small at a far distance. In
order to foreshorten “large nearby objects and small distant ones” on a plane, it is
important to de˂ne the perspective height of the objects depicted. The perspective
height determination helps to de˂ne the width of physical objects and also to depict
the size of objects in perspective on a plane. One of the methods for determining the
perspective height of objects is the perspective scale method. The paper covers the
usage of this method in teaching students to draw and provides some exerceises for
students’ independent work.
