The paper justiBes the statement of a new scientiBc problem related to the formation
of the basics of Russian choral music interpretation among future music teachers from
China studying at Russian pedagogical universities. Interpretation of music pieces as
a fundamental category of interdisciplinary humanities knowledge in pedagogics of
music education is understudied. At the same time, for teaching Chinese undergraduate
students, interpretation of Russian music in the context of the Russian pedagogical and
performing traditions is highly importand and it deBnes many vectors in the formation
of teachers-musicians. The paper describes the author’s attitude to the scientiBc tools
for studying the mentioned issue, deBnes the main directions of theoretical analysis of
Russian choral music interpretation, shows the degree of the issue’s development and the main steps of its realisation.
