Evaluation Ambivalence in the Media Text

The paper deals with a linguistic aspect of the evaluation ambivalence phenomenon, in particular, with the lexical means of the British monarchy evaluation. Great Britain citizens feel ambivalence towards the institute of monarchy, and they are considered to be 
the subject that expresses evaluation in this research. The empirical analysis of the material reveals that evaluation ambivalence is expressed not only explicitly, but also implicitly. This kind of text representation creates an illusion in a reader that he is at liberty to make an independent choice of the appropriate social attitude.
