The article considers infographics as a tool for teaching critical reading. The urge to
develop analytical reading skills in teaching foreign language to graduate students at a
multidisciplinary university is explained. Specifi cs of the students’ work with authentic
professional texts due to changes in the modern information environment are stated.
The need for search of the new tools for teaching communicative reading is justifi ed.
The results of the experiment demonstrating the effectiveness and potential of using the
tool of infographics in teaching critical reading are presented.
