Comparative Study of Oil Painting Teaching in Chinese and European Universities

This paper presents a comparative study of oil painting professional 
education in higher art colleges in China and Europe. The author con-
ducts a comparative analysis of the oil painting majors in China and 
Europe, mainly including Russia, Germany, France, Italy and other 
countries, the historical background, oil painting teaching concept, oil 
painting professional setting, oil painting professional teaching experi-
mental reform and oil painting professional social development and stu-
dent employment direction, etc. In addition, the paper deals with analysis 
and comparison of the aspects, and  reforms of the relevant art colleges, 
sorting out differences in the development of oil painting professional 
education in Chinese and European art colleges, and advantages and 
disadvantages in the teaching system, seeking for the reform of China’s 
oil painting education system with a new pathway to exploration.
