The article reveals the peculiarities of forming one of the directions of universal learning activities (ULA) – communicative skills. Forming of ULA is based on the regulations concerning the standards of the second generation. Special attention is paid to one of the ways to form communicative ULA – work in pairs and small groups. The article presents the tasks that can be used in forming skills of work in pairs and small groups.
