Various approaches to the description of the role behaviour of modern managers are con-
sidered in the paper. The evolution of views on the construction of models and classifications of manager roles is traced. The author defines the conditions that should be met by an express questionnaire for diagnosing manager roles. With this in mind, the author of the paper developed a questionnare thet makes it possible to quickly assess the intensity of the four manager roles in accordanse with the classification of I. K Adizes. Its satis-factory psichometric characteristics are shown. The author proposes new directions of practical use and scientific research by means of express questionnaire.
