This paper discusses fi ve types of communicative registers in the genre of fi lm critique. The author analyzes functions of each type of communicative registers using the fi lm reviews of the movie “Legend No. 17” (2012). The author comes to the conclusion that each type of the communicative registers is of different value for structuring a fi lm
critique due to their different dominant functions. It is assumed that different types of the communicative register may mix in a sentence with
types of communicative registers.
