Correlation Contours of Prosody and Kinetically Isolated Gestures in the Discourse of Presentation of a New Product (based on the material of oral presentations by US entrepreneurs Steve Jobs, Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg)

N. V. Arnova
Price: 50 руб.
The present paper explores the interaction and correlation contours of prosody and kinetically isolated gestures, and identifies their most effective combination in the discourse of promoting a new product. The author considers match and/or mismatch of the peak of gesture and the nuclear tone in a syntagm, coincidence of gesture directions and the direction of the nuclear tone, as well as a correlation between
the gesture and the key word in a syntagm.
Keywords: prosody, nonverbal communication, discourse, argument.
