ISSUES OF THE SCHOOL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

 The ongoing socio-economic changes affect the system of school education.
Modernisation of the education system determines the need to change various aspects
of classroom practice, including management. The paper analyses and estimates the
impact of changes in education in terms of new opportunities and existing limitations
in school management. The article discusses the state of the school management
system and indicates possible directions of its improvement. Improving the system
of school management is aimed at upgrading the quality of education and ensuring
the sustainability of results in terms of external and internal changes. The causes
for changes in the education system, opportunities and constraints of the school
management system, basic characteristics of the model of school management are
considered through analysing the opinions of experts of the Council on Education
Policy of Saint Petersburg.
