The article discusses the main representatives of ethnofuturism in cultures of the Turkic
peoples of the Ural-Volga region. The author considers the ideas of theoreticians,
activities of artists, art groups, festivals, and other elements of the contemporary national
culture. The development of ethnofuturism is shown through the example of these
peoples as both an artistic direction and an ideology, a concept of creating a national
urban culture. The author reveals similar and different features of ethnofuturism among
Finno-Ugric peoples and Turks in this region. The article is one of the first attempts to
analyse ethnofuturism as a phenomenon in the culture of the Turkic peoples.
