The article is devoted to the analysis of personnel training taking into account the results of the education system monitoring. The article presents the results of the sociological research of opinions on the current education system among future economics graduates and their motivation in choosing future professional activity. Negative tendencies of professional self-determination of youth are noted alongside with positive ones. The modern continuous system of training “higher education institution – manufacturing” is realised under considerable uncertainty and risks. Attention is paid to the main components of forming the model of training of young specialists, personnel motivation and its forms in the “Russian Railways” Holding. Some directions of risk minimisation in the system of professional education are considered in modern social and economic conditions.
