The comparative analysis of Arabisms on the phonetic and graphic levels of British and American English is considered in the article. The comparison of Arabisms is largely conditioned by the fact that in most cases they got into the English language through a variety of intermediate languages, most commonly Latin, Italian, French, Spanish and Portuguese. The initial phase of introduction of Arabisms into intercultural communication is connected with the need to use transcription due to the functioning of the Cyrillic script as an alphabet, but not Arabic graphic characters.
