The study on the category of time from the cultural science position as a civilisation universal, having great infl uence on the development of social and cultural processes, helps to create ideas on cultural prospects of mankind in future. The research object is time as a civilisation universal. The main methods of work are formal logical, systematic, structural-functional and comparative methods of analysis; historism, objectivity and contextuality approaches. The academic novelty lies in the validation of the four stages of temporal synchronisation of culture and civilisation. The results of the work can be of interest to experts in cultural studies.
