The article discusses onomatopoeic words of the Ingush language and their correlation with certain parts of speech. The author also studies the issue of onomatopoeic verbs in terms of their structure and function. Special attention is paid to the conventionally defi ned subsystems of the onomatopoeic vocabulary: sound-symbolic subsystem (with nonacoustic denotation) and onomatopoeic subsystem (with acoustic denotation).
