The article describes the order of consideration of bills and adoption of laws in the subjects of the Russian Federation by regional parliaments. The author analyses the legislation on a number of parliamentary readings in the legislative process in the subjects of the Russian Federation, as well as their conduct in practice. The author justifi es the need to change the legislative practice in the subjects in terms of the readings procedure.
