Personality development in the aging period

N. S. Seliverstova
Price: 50 руб.
The article is devoted to the features of self-concept changes among men and women
during their age-related and social crisis and retirement. As people grow older, their
social status and mode of life change, their state of health becomes worse. They adapt
to age-related changes of their self-concept with difficulties. In this period they begin to
rethink their course of life and adapt to their new look. They face the problem of reforming persuasions, value orientations, personality norms and motor patterns. Psychological help at this stage will contribute to adaptation of elderly people to new social roles, behavioral manifestations in them; i. е. to the development at a new stage, and not to personality decay. The results of self-concept diagnostics of elderly people are described in the article.
Key words: self-image, self-concept, elderly age, idealised self, real self.
