The article covers the specifis of the development of regional programmes addressed to children. The author discusses the information culture of teenagers and their requirements to the content of television programmes and media texts. With the rapid development of new technologies and putting them into practice, young citizens face high requirements to themselves. These requirements relate to teenagers’ physical, psychological, moral and spiritual health. At the same time, TV is often viewed as a kind of a teacher. The creation of a proper base for the revival of children’s educational material and the development of multimedia television programmes is a fundamental purpose of the media. Therefore, the main task of modern television for children and youth is to fid methods and ways of purposeful and effective teaching by means of media content.
