The artistic conception of Rasputin’s works is formed in the style of the Christian cultural tradition that in many ways determines the peculiarities of his works. Modernity and processes in a person’s inner world, in people’s conscience as well as the future are looked through from the standpoint of the author’s ideal. Based on “The New Profession” story, the article reveals the importance of love and beauty motives, their spiritual meaning. The author of the article scrutinises the genre nature of the parable and pays attention to the unusual character, the artist-improviser.
