The article is based on the empirical studies of psychological problems among students and data collection from students of various departments at the 9 schools of higher education in St.Petersburg. The study has contributed towards a clearer and more balanced understanding of common problems of the younger generation, as well as rule out certain specifi c characteristics of particular schools as the source of
psychological problems. Objective information about students’ emotions as participants of the educational process is a prerequisite for the evaluation and timely correction of the system of education.
