THE METHODOLOGY FOR IDENTIFYING LANGUAGE ABILITIES IN CANDIDATES FOR MILITARY HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

Abstract. The aim of the article is to evaluate the language abilities of candidates applying to military higher education institutions. These educational institutions are not specialised in languages, but have the same requirements as all institutions of higher education where foreign languages are studied. To achieve positive success in mastering foreign languages, the author of the paper developed a methodology for evaluating the ability of candidates to learn foreign languages which would be used to allocate candidates according to the difficulty of mastering a foreign language. The methodology was tested twice, during which adjustments and changes to the tasks were made. The results of the testing prove that the allocation of candidates according to their language abilities is a possible and effective method for learning foreign languages.
