GRAPHIC POSTER AND ITS SIGNIFICANCE IN TRAINING OF DESIGNERS AT HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

Abstract. The article contains a historical overview of the formation of the poster genre in domestic design and theoretical formulations of the main formal parameters of the genre in terms of its functional nature. The main stages of the formation of poster are indicated in connection with the historical development of design in Russia. Attention is focused on the current state of the genre and its role in modern design education, given the current technical and social situation in the industry.
